$55 AUD per month
Your contribution provides food, clothing, healthcare, home essentials, and extra-curricular activities; the daily care that allows a child to feel secure and truly belong.
As a sponsor, you’ll receive a welcome pack and two letters each year from the child you support.
Sponsor a Child
Sponsorship is one of the most meaningful ways to make a lasting difference in a child’s life. By becoming a sponsor, you’re helping provide the care, education, and stability every child deserves and becoming part of the extended Ujamaa family.
Choose how you’d like to support a child below. Both options contribute to long-term, holistic care, and most children have more than one sponsor to ensure every need is fully covered.

Your support covers school fees, transport, uniforms, textbooks, and learning materials, giving a child access to quality education and stronger long-term prospects.
As a sponsor, you’ll receive a welcome pack, two letters each year, and school reports each term.
Education sponsorship
Why Private school?
Tanzanian government schools face major challenges: large class sizes, under-resourced classrooms, and inconsistent teacher attendance. Children are taught in Swahili in primary, but secondary school abruptly switches to English, leaving many behind.
At Ujamaa, our children attend English Medium schools from the start. This improves learning, boosts confidence, and opens doors to future opportunities.
Through our Forward Together program, we continue supporting older youth into higher education, vocational training, and employment until they are ready to stand on their own.

Every dollar makes a difference. Your donation helps us provide a safe home, a stable education, and long-term support for vulnerable children and young adults. We keep admin costs low, with over 90% of funds directly supporting our programs on the ground in Tanzania.

I first came into contact with the Ujamaa Children's Home over a decade ago, while I was working as a youth worker. I was struck by the profound impact such a small organisation was having on children with zero government funding, fuelled by the passion of Founder Carley Mchome which has inspired all of our sponsors and donors over the years. It's a privilege to be able to lend my skills to the Foundation, to continue this important work in ensuring Tanzania's most vulnerable children are given the opportunities to succeed in life
